Mac Kenzie Sacks joined our law firm after serving as an Assistant Public Defender for the 15th Judicial Circuit for over three years. As an Assistant Public Defender, Ms. Sacks represented over 2,500 clients. Ms. Sacks is a trial lawyer by trade with extensive experience in trying both jury and non-jury trials. Ms. Sacks’ trial work resulted in over 90% success rate earning most of her clients’ acquittals. During her tenure as an Assistant Public Defender, Ms. Sacks acquired expertise in almost all felony and misdemeanor charges, including defending clients charged with crimes such as drug trafficking, felon in possession of a weapon, child pornography, robbery, burglary with assault or battery, failure to register as a sex offender, theft and fraud, fleeing and eluding, domestic battery, child abuse, kidnapping, stalking, resisting arrest, and trespass. Ms. Sacks gained her reputation as an aggressive litigator by successfully arguing motions to suppress and motions to dismiss, including Stand Your Ground on the charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.


Ms. Sacks graduated cum laude from University of Miami School of Law, as well as President of the Charles C. Papy Moot Court Board. During law school, Ms. Sacks began to develop her litigation skills through representing clients in immigration court to writing criminal federal appellate briefs. Additionally, Ms. Sacks was a member of the litigation skills program while traveling nationally to various oral advocacy competitions. Ms. Sacks is passionate about criminal defense work as her ability to understand and empathize with her clients’ circumstances is the foundation for her zealous advocacy. Through her vast experience in advocacy, Ms. Sacks has become proficient in persuading prosecutors and judges to see her clients as the people they are and think of creative sentencing alternatives. 


Ms. Sacks is admitted to practice in Florida and the Southern District of Florida. Ms. Sacks is also a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association and the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Originally from Canada, Ms. Sacks was raised in South Florida. Ms. Sacks received her B.S. in Criminal Justice from University of Central Florida.
